Notes on name and Ensorcelled shoot
A nixie is a legendary Germanic/Scandinavian nymph that dwells in or around small bodies of water. She’s mischievous, temperamental, and rather malicious. Stories tell of the Nix casting spells upon poor unsuspecting men, luring them into her clutches so that she may have her way with them before sending them to their watery graves.
Although I have never actually drowned anyone, I have the nixie’s same mischievous and slightly dark nature. However, nixies also love to laugh and I did a lot of that while shooting the first set. It took place in a public park where a day camp of young children happened to be wandering around. Although the thought of flashing children was entertaining, it is really not a good idea. So we had a lookout posted to make sure no eight-year-olds saw anything they shouldn’t.
In addition to dodging children, I also gained a specialty in climbing barefoot, and acquired a level in rangering barefoot as well. The bushes put up a good fight but I prevailed in the end. Poor prop-boy also had to get himself drowned while tromping through a wilderness pond with an 8 inch layer of silt on the bottom. Ah, what sacrifices we make for art!
